"Take young researchers, put them together in virtual seclusion, give them an unprecedented degree

of freedom and turn up the pressure by fostering competitiveness"     ~James D. Watson

Bioclues is a non-profit virtual organization for, by, and of the Indian Bioinformaticians. It is one of the fastest growing bioinformatics society in India, currently serving over 3100 members from nearly 30 countries around the world aiming to bring together the Indian bioinformaticians, foster a strong working mentor–mentee relationship, provide access to bioinformatics resources, organize conferences and workshops, serve as a one-stop portal to information about research,  training, education, employment and current events and news from bioinformatics, genomics, and related fields.

Bioclues is a registered society in India as non-profit organization, and registered in the state of Andhra Pradesh (Under Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2001, Act No. 35 of 2001, Regn. No. 520 of 2009). Bioclues humble beginnings started in 2005 by a small group of like-minded bioinformaticians from India, and of Indian origin. Bioclues is given a Creative Commons License. The prime motivation of Bioclues is to help the bioinformatician in India to keep in pace with the overall growth, research trends, and technology transfer in the field of bioinformatics/computational biology, and to make all possible efforts to make it amenable to all bioinformaticans in India.

We request you to to peruse all of the sections on Biolcues.org for a perspective on how we started, where we have been, and where you - the bioinformaticians - through your participation, and through your comments can guide and help lead us in the coming years. Our goal is to make Bioclues as the leading representative and face of Indian Bioinformatician to the world.

We have some explicit intents and feelings:

a) To create and disseminate consciousness of research and recent ongoings in field of Bioinformatics and System Biology through webzines and webinars and recent scientific literature reviews.

b) Identify practicable knowledge drivers through a comprehensive look for computational biologists.

c) Impart a complete understanding of the principal bioinformatics algorithms and tools through interactive summaries, polls, discussions.

d) To provide an online project platform for mentoring the graduate students, while bridging the interaction of students in the field of Computational Biology.

e)  To cater the need of assimilating existing open source code and developing new tools. These tools will be tested by expert users and researcher and then will be distributed to online community as open source code software.
