The Indian virtual Bioinformatics conference 2010 (Inbix '10), which is the first of its kind in India, was organized by Bioclues.org on Feb 12-13th 2010, with the support from Bioinformatics Organization and Asia Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet), regional affiliate of International Society for Computational Biology. Over the last few years, Research in the fields of Bioinformatics clubbed with Systems Biology has gained momentum within Indian sub continent. The concept of a 'virtual conference' is the first of its kind in India and this is an initiative of Bioclues Organization. The virtual conference was a grand success with 15 eminent speakers across the globe 120 participants, 6 hubs and 11 posters presentations. Organizers hope opportunity like INBIX'10 will not only foster virtual interactions and collaborations amongst students but also allow students to listen to esteemed scientists within and across India, 'at par' with the rest of the world in terms of Bioinformatics and computational biology research.
